HF & VHF Tranceiver

"AYAN DX TEAM" use the next trx: TS-850SAT, FT-101ZD, IC-706Mk2, IC-703. For all time, that we used this radios, we good understand where, when and which radio we can use.
When you operate from some top of the mountain, there prefer to use IC-703 and IC-706Mk2. IC-703 has a very good auto tuner, very economical saving, good quality working, and if you have storage battery from UPS and solar battery, then you don't have any problems at all.

Amplifiers

Very often we using an amplifiers. At the beginning of our expeditions in 2008, we used PA from UY7IQ with the russian tube GU-74B (3CX800). It works great, but after stoping twice our generator, PA was broken. It was stoping the cooling tube. Ofcourse, we can fixed everything and rebuilt power supply of the cooling system, we can put there one storage battery from UPS, but then we must all this things bring with us. It is very big amount. Thats why now we use the amplifiers by UU5JA. It has output cascade on the three tubes GU-50. PA hasn't the transformer. It is very compact, very good work on HF and VHF bands, it has the weigth only 5 kg (near 11 pound), that is very good condition for the expedition. Also we using the amplifier with the tube GK-71 (like 813).

Power supplies.

At firsts our expeditions we used gasoline generator "HONDA". The power of the generator is 2 kWtts.

Till nowadays we using the diesel generator "Firman". The power of generator 5.5 kWtts.

For trx we using the pulsed power suplies "OMEGA", MML 600 model. PS save it working conditions with input voltage from 90V till 255V, from 43Hz till 68Hz. We measured output voltage of PS with trx, which worked on transmitting,with 100Wtts power. The output voltage do not fall even on 0,01V.

When we operated from the top of the mountain, on which we can get only by our feet, than we using UPS's storage batteries (7A in hour, 12A in hour). Also we take one solar battery and recharge the batteries.

Also we using remake pulsed power suplies from the computers. After our remake, the PS give the current not less than 22 A, voltage - 13,8V, with all protection systems, filters, coolers (which working with speed 200 - 250RPM, and if the PS become warmer, then cooler will be crown the speed).

For working in the local network, working in the contests, writing logs we using small netbooks ASUS. Models: eee PC 901, eee PC 700.

Sometimes we used additional screen with size 17 inch.

UHF radios and amplifiers.

For operation on the 2m and 70cm bands we using the next stations:
- IC-706Mk2 - 145MHz till 20Wtts;
- FT-230R - 145MHz till 10Wtts;
- FTL 7011 - 430MHz till 10Wtts.

For safety, each of the member of our team receive the mobile station:
- TK-2260 - 145MHz - from 1Wtt till 5Wtts;
or
- TK-3260 - 430MHz - from 1Wtt till 5Wtts.

If it necessary, we can make the repieter from two stations FTL 7011 with the special box. If we connect FTL 7011 and FT-230R we receive the crossband repieter.
